THE PROCESS IN PORTUGAL IS QUITE SIMPLE:
1. Make your selection;
2. Deposit a minimum of 10% of the purchase price with your lawyer within 4-5 weeks of your decision to buy. The lawyer will then exchange a promissory contract with the vendors lawyer;
3. The balance will be paid on the final deed, which is on an agreed date in the future and set out in the promissory contract. For properties under construction it is usual to pay in stages until it is complete. The price agreed in the promissory contract is the price you pay. |
