WESTERN ALGARVE
From Carvoeiro to Sagres lies the ever-increasingly popular Western Region of the Algarve. It has become more accessible following the opening of the Motorway extension a few years ago. |
The south coast has numerous picturesque sandy beaches, whereas the west coast has a dramatic coastline punctuated with attractive coves and is well known as a surfers paradise. The main towns are, the quaint Carvoeiro, Praia da Rocha with its enormous beach, the port of Portimao, Lagos with its marina and Luz. To the north lie the historic town of Silves, which is dominated by its castle and the Spa town of Monchique. |
CENTRAL ALGARVE
This jewel in the crown lies between Faro and Armação de Pêra. With miles of sun blessed beaches, crystal clear blue water and breathtaking landscapes, this region has attracted visitors and property owners for many years. |
Apart from its natural beauty, the region also offers numerous leisure facilities including water parks and golf courses. The main resorts are Armacao de Pera with its large beach that adjoins a bird sanctuary, Albufeira with its bustling nightlife, Vilamoura famous for its marina, and the millionaires playgrounds of Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo the latter of which is an international award winner for best Resort. |
EASTERN ALGARVE
Stretching from Faro to the Spanish border, this area is dominated by the Ria Formoso Nature Reserve with its abundance of wildlife.

The miles of quiet sandy beaches are accessed by ferry boats which meander their way through the inland water system. The main towns are Faro the administrative capital of the Algarve, the fishing port of Olhao and the historic Tavira which is flanked by the picturesque fishing villages of Santa Luzia and Cabanas. |
THE REGIONS
The Western region has a southern coast with long sandy beaches, whereas the dramatic western coastline is punctuated with coves. The main towns are Portimao, with its harbour and enormous beach, the quaint Carvoeiro and historic Lagos.

The Central region remains the preferred choice of homebuyers due to its glorious sandy beaches, abundance of golf and leisure facilities and easy access to the airport. The main towns are, Albufeira and the golfers paradises of Vilamoura, Quinta Do Lago and the international award winning Vale Do Lobo.
The Eastern region is increasing in popularity due to the growth in the Tavira area. The area is dominated by the Ria Formosa nature reserve and access to the beaches is mainly by small ferry boats that meander their way through the inland water system. |
